Core'dinations Card Stock

Have you tried the new Core'dinations card stock?  Here it is with the woodgrain embossing folder.  I really like the effect and it's so simple to use.  Just a little sanding and your done.  Also, the paper is a great stand-in for the retired textured card stock that I absolutely loved!  On this card I used the rock-n-roll technique with three colors.  The center of the leaves is More Mustard, then Riding Hood Red, then the very edges just barely touched with a little Soft Suede.  That more mustard ribbon is starting to grow on me, you'll probably see more of it on my blog.

Happy Hallow-wing!

I actually used ribbon!!  Those of you that know me, know that this is amazing.  I tend to "conserve" my ribbon, and on this card I just went for it!!  Turning over a new leaf?  Probably not, but it's a start! ;)   I love the way the ribbon coordinates with the black DSP from the Patterns pack.  I should've taken a picture from the side to show you the dimension of the card.  The center circle is popped up.  I just used my white gel pen to add the little dots around the edges of the scalloped circled.  And then the cute little image and sentiment is from the Tricky Treats stamps set.

At least I finished it....sort of

This card has been bothering me and now I'm just done with it!!  I am not "over the moon" with how it turned out, but at least I finished it.  I used the new Early Espresso embossing powder and did the "emboss resist" technique using a sponge for the sunset/trees.  One of my favorite ways to "add" to a card is to distress the edges, so I did a little just around the edges of the image layer.  I am really enjoying using the piercing templates too.  They add such a subtle detail, but it really makes an impact.  You can't tell in the picture but I actually colored the white edge of the 1/8" taffeta ribbon using my Lucky Limeade marker.   It's pretty unusual for me to have so many different elements on one card, but I guess that's what happens when you aren't happy with your creative process.... Oh and what about a sentiment for this card?  Where is it?  I don't know, I think I gave up by that point.  What do you think it should be?  Where should I put it? Should I add one at all?

Cute little pumpkins

Here's a quick little 4"x4" card that I made.  What do you think of the different colored buttons?  I thought it was pretty cute!  The weather seems to be cooling off just a little here, feels like fall is creeping up on us!!   I am a huge fan of all things fall!  I just love pumpkins!! I like to get a couple from the store as soon as I see them and I usually keep them out until I start putting out my Christmas decorations.  For the card I used the Button Buddies stamp set and Orchard Harvest DSP and I definitely stepped out of my comfort zone with the colors.  I forced myself to buy some More Mustard ribbon and I really like it in combination with the Cajun Craze card base.  Actually, this might be one of the first times I've used Cajun Craze as a card base and I'm pretty happy with the outcome.  You might see more of it from me...

Happy Birthday

Here's a cute little card I made for my friend Lorraine's birthday!  I fell in love with this International Bazaar DSP as soon as I saw it during the catalog preview.  I bought it as soon as I could and this is the first time I've used it......can you say "Hoarder?"   I like the simplicity of this card and the matching paper bow is so cute.  The "loops" of the bow are made using the large oval punch and the tails are just shaped with my paper snips.  I will definitely have to make more paper bows as the holiday season approaches!  I cased this card from a picture I saw on Pinterest from Lil Inky Designs.
